1.
Suggestion box
We are adding a global suggestion box for the whole web site. The shortcut URL will be: http://libraries.mit.edu/suggestions
It will be a simple form where users (MIT only) can make suggestions. The email will go to webmaster and Nicole will forward messages appropriately. We'll include a link to the Suggested Purchase form, if the suggestion is really about that.
We will link to it from the Contact Us page, which is available in the footer of most pages of our site. We will also link to it under About Us on the home page, after "hot topics" and before "more..."
2. Barton OPAC issues
Version 18 is installed on the test server, so soon we'll have things to discuss and implement: your bookshelf saved over sessions, RSS feeds, and other things. We'll put this on the agenda when it's ready.
3. Linking to our services in other web sites (such as Amazon):
Firefox Greasemonkey script for searching Barton from Amazon
Tim Rix has modified the Firefox Greasemonkey script for Amazon, so it links to Barton from an Amazon record. We will put this on our new "betas" page soon. Nicole will update it to say "MIT Libraries" rather than just "Barton." Darcy will mock up a beta page to link to this and other "beta" things we're testing. See:

LibX Firefox Toolbar for libraries
Virginia Tech has made a Firefox toolbar available that is open source and being customized by many libraries.
http://libx.org/
Nicole will follow up with them and explore testing it for our environment. More on this next time.
4. Coding the library survey
We are dividing up the open-ended responses to certain questions on the survey and coding them according to categories that are of interest to our team. We reminded ourselves to finish this by May 1, so Nicole can consolidate the results for a future discussion.
5. Other items
SFX Statistics - We looked at some samples and decided to ask Rich to make a logon for public services staff to look at the stats. Of particular interest is the report, "number of requests and clickthroughs per source."
Parking lot: We plan to look at the SFX menus of other institutions to get ideas for improving our menu.
