1. New home page design

Alice Hecht came to present several wire frame mock-ups for our home page redesign. WAG selected two major directions which Hecht Designs will further flesh out and send back to us by March 12.

2. Barton quick search for home page

WAG discussed the various options that would be available in a drop-down menu for a Barton quick search on the new home page. We decided to use the same options from the drop-down menu on the Barton basic search screen, except we would take out the series searches since it was felt that these are not the most common searches.

3. ASIS&T Information Architecture (IA) Summit

Nicole attended the ASIS&T IA Summit in Austin last weekend and shared some ideas she learned about. One topic was faceted browsing - a good example is the browse search in Epicurious. The group working on the Database Design Tool project may be able to use this. The Open Video Project is a site that has very nice design and has a good method for showing results in different formats.
