Minutes - 14 August 2002

Present: Duke (minutes), Hennig, Skuce

1. Future of subject pages

PSMG will be discussing the future of subject pages. We would like to get more information on the use of the subject pages. Possible avenues are to get feedback from subject selectors via email, look at the statistics on number of hits, etc., who is linking to these pages, and getting data from the big usability test we will do this fall.

2. RBR/Hayden pages

Stephen has spoken with Georgiana and Ruth Seidman about the transition of the new Hayden Circulation desk. We will need a new photo for the web pages and we will need to make changes to a number of pages to the site. Darcy will create some mockups of changes, and Nicole will invite Georgiana to our next meeting.

3. Announcements

  • Announce new pages: There are many new and changed pages on our site since last Spring. Nicole will send out an email to the staff to alert them of the changes and the new pages available.
  • Staff listings: Nicole has been working on some changes to the staff listing pages, to reduce the amount of scrolling.
  • RSC pages: RSC is now offering electronic article delivery via Document Service's WebDocs service, and a number of pages needed to be altered to accomodate and promote this service. The group reviewed mockups of these edited pages.
  • GIS site usability testing: Sarah Williams has distributed names of volunteers for the GIS usability test to Stephen, Darcy and Christine Quirion. They will be meeting with the volunteers over the next few weeks.

Next meeting:

Wednesday, September 4, 2-3:30; 10-500 (Barker Conference Room)
