1. Meeting with the Reference Committee
Nicole
will meet on June 4th with the Reference Committee to discuss possible
changes to some of the categories on our home page. Both Stephen and
Darcy will be out of town and cannot attend, so Nicole will report back
to the group.
2. Metalib and SFX
The
group discussed the recent training and progress with Metalib, including
the follow-up meeting with the ENAV group and the public service individuals
who attended the training. The Web Advisory Group was very enthusiastic
about Metalib and could be a resource in helping with its development.
The
group reviewed some SFX screens Nicole has been customizing to show
the ENAV group.
3. Web statistics packages
Nicole
had been investigating web statistics packages on behalf of
a few groups in the Libraries. WebTrends seems to be the industry
standard. It does offer more extensive reports and views of our data
than our current software, but is rather expensive. Nicole will investigate
further.
4. Finding articles, etc. pages
The
Instruction Committee has developed a new set of pages to help novice
users with the basics of finding information (how to find books, articles,
web pages, etc., relevent to a particular topic). The group discussed
where to link to these pages from and a few ideas for changes were
also generated - Darcy will mock-up some of these and WAG will bring
them back to the Instruction Committee.
Next meetings:

May 15, 2:30-4pm (note different day/time); 10-500 (Nicole's office)
