1. Usability testing of new GIS site
The group
met with Sarah Williams and Christine Quirion (volunteer observer) to
go over the questions that will be used in the test of the GIS site.
The testing of this site will be delayed until summer due to end of
the term pressures and some changes that need to be made to the site.
2. Meeting with CMG
Nicole
recently met with CMG to discuss some issues:
- subject
pages: members of CMG would like a design for subject pages that
shows more of the depth of the content on the top level of the page
- Nicole will work with a subgoup of CMG on a possible alternate
template for subject pages (it's possible the Stellar
technology may be one option for the future); there was a discussion
about the role of subject pages (a valuable resource, but under-used
and hard to maintain), CMG agreed it would be good to have a larger
forum to discuss this issue
- collection
policies are almost ready - Nicole will put these up on the web
site as soon as CMG sends her the files
- which
pages on the web site that CMG is responsible for
- giving
Preservation Services a presence on the public web site
3. Miscellaneous
items
Updating
donations pages:
Nicole
met with Ruth Seidman to discuss updating the donations
pages. Ruth and MJ Miller have some ideas about new pages (including
one that features past donations) and updating current pages. These
pages are under development.
Hayden
entrance renovation page:
Jim
Eggleston has been working on a page for the Hayden entrance renovation,
which will feature updates on the project as well as renderings of
the new entrance. As soon as these pages are finished, they will be
linked from the Humanities, Science and Hayden Circulation home pages
and also from the top level spotlight.
Next meeting:
Tuesday,
May 7, 1-2:30pm (note different day/time); 10-500 (Nicole's office)
