Minutes 12/19/2001

Present: Duke (minutes), Hennig, Skuce

1. Stellar Project

Nicole met recently with Mike Barker of the Stellar Project, an endeavor by I/S to help professors and instructors by automating the process of creating course pages. To facilitate the inclusion of library links on those pages, Mike and Nicole discussed potential links and Mike recently sent a URL with a first draft of his work. The group reviewed this and will be getting back to Mike with suggestions for new names of the links and a edited readme page for the links.

2. January brownbag lunch

The group selected a few dates in January for a brownbag lunch for library staff to come and hear updates on the website as well as provide their own feedback. Stephen will reserve the room, and Nicole will then send out an announcement of the date and place.

3. Feedback from staff

The group discussed suggestions from the staff in response to an email Nicole recently sent requesting feedback on the new website. Suggestions which would have obvious benefit and that are reasonably simple to implement will be worked on immediately. Other suggestions that are larger in scope and would require major changes will wait until further usability testing is finished and a larger review of the site can be done (over the next spring and summer).

Next meeting:

Wednesday, Janurary 2, 2-3:30 PM; 10-500 (Nicole's office)
