Faculty User Group

The MIT Libraries Faculty Users Group advocates and promotes exemplary services for the MIT Faculty.

Activities 1999-2000

  • Faculty Outreach
    • Outreach to new faculty at Midway for the New Faculty Orientation, Aug. 30, 1999
    • Created vehicle for faculty feedback: web comments
  • Faculty Survey, Nov. 1999
    • Conducted survey of faculty (by mail and online)
    • Created database to tabulate survey results, Nov. 1999
    • Presented preliminary survey results to Faculty Committee on the Library System
    • Developed searchable web-based database to share raw survey data, March 2000
    • Created survey web site to disseminate survey summaries & report, March 2000
    • Survey summary distributed at IMPS Celebration, March 27, 2000
    • Presented survey summary at Full Staff Meeting, April 26, 2000
    • Prepared executive summary report, May 2000
    • Facilitated examination of survey results, including analysis of comments, with library committees to foster recommendations for changes in existing services & development of new/improved services
    • Responded to faculty: thank you letter; survey follow-up letter
  • Created Faculty User Group web page, Nov. 2000
