1. MetaLib Task Force report:
Training with ExLibris took place on Monday, 9/11. The MetaLib Task Force will create three prototype test sets of databases. From there, a more detailed plan will be made for introducing the product to the public.
2. Staff Web
· The UIG finalized email messages regarding the move of the staff web. Nicole sent the messages to all-lib.
· We will look into getting wiki software for the public Web as well as the staff web.
· A brown bag about the new staff web tentatively will be scheduled during the week of Oct. 16.
· Lisa Harrington and Nicole are planning to migrate files during mid-November.
3. Podcasting plans
· UIG is looking for ideas for Podcast content. Currently we’ve come up with the following:
a. authors@mit
b. poetry@mit
c. interview librarians who are working on “cool” things or have instructional content
d. "one minute tips" from librarians for specific things that students may find handy
d. read a summary of latest blog stories each week (the MIT News Office is doing something similar for their podcasts)
· Maggie and Bonnie will work with Nicole on getting started.
