User Interface Group Meeting
Present: Nicole Hennig (chair), Millicent Gaskell, Bonnie Parks, Maggie Bartley, Lisa Harrington (minutes)UIG webpage and minutes
Nicole gave us a quick tour of the new UIG webpage and she will be sending the path and instructions to post meeting minutes to the page for the group.The New Staff Web
There is a new server with a new name: http://libstaff.mit.edu and there will also be a new home page design coming along as well.We saw a draft of the design in the meeting and began to talk about a plan to implement moving to the new staff web. We are still waiting to hear which wiki IS&T will support.
The group discussed various steps to implement this project and how best to communicate to library staff. Several different messages will be going out and Millicent and Nicole will be meeting about the migration of the old staff web to the new staff web and to determine a process for this. Details and more information on this will be sent to all-lib at some point in the fall. In September there will be a brown bag discussing the staff web plans for staff to attend.
Updates
We took a look at the wireframe for the new giving web site which will be designed by Hecht Design.Betas: If members of the group have things to add or to look at in the future, email the group to share.
LibX: automatic updates of LibX will come when you update Firefox.
Nicole talked about project SimpLR that will be announced by Steve soon.
