MIT Libraries Technology Advisory Group
Charge:
The Technology
Advisory Group is a forum for communication between Systems and Technology
Services and all units of the MIT Libraries served by them. The group
meets to share information on current STS activities and to keep STS
aware of activities throughout the system that require support from
STS. Its agenda focuses on how library units use technology in their
daily work.
Areas
for discussion will include:
- communicating emerging needs
- sharing information on local technology
projects or initiatives
- reviewing system-wide priorities
requiring support from STS
- reporting
on problems
- discussing
the capital equipment process
- identifying needs for training
The group meets on the
first Friday of every other month.
Membership:
Each department
may appoint one representative to TAG. The representative should be someone
able to represent their department’s interests, and communicate
departmental needs and priorities, in the area of local technology operations
and planning.
