SFX Sources and Targets
Sources
Sources
are the places (mostly databases) where the SFX link/button will appear.
Some vendors allow our customized SFX button, some allow only the generic
SFX button, and some vendors allow text links. Clicking on these links/buttons
will bring up the SFX menu in a new window.

Barton
and DSpace may be implemented as sources in a future stage of the project.
They are already targets.
To see
a list of all databases that can be SFX sources (those that are open-URL
enabled), see ExLibris's list of SFX
Sources.
Targets
A target
is an e-journal, database package, or other electronic resource that
can be linked to from the SFX menu. Most of our online journals will
be made available as SFX targets soon after they appear in Vera.
Due to
the differences in how publishers set up their web sites, some journals
can be linked to at the article level, while others can only be linked
to at the journal, volume or issue level. To see what level a particular
journal can be linked to, see: SFX
Targets.
