Known Problems and Future Additions

Known problems or work-in-progress

  • Our document delivery forms are not yet set up to auto-populate. Coming later.
  • AIAA not yet set up as a target. We're working with SFX to get a parser for it.
  • Web of Science: When using Netscape to access Web of Science, preferences need to be set to allow popups (in Netscape, go to: Edit > Preferences > Privacy & Security > Popup Window > select "Allow popups").

Future additions

  • Consider adding additional SFX services such as authors and tables of contents to the SFX menu.
  • Set up the Citation Linker to be a "Full Text Finder" tool for the public. (work in progress in WAG)

Since the following are very different from journal article databases, we may want different options in the menu:

  • Make Barton a source (SFX button would appear in every record).
  • Make DSpace a source (SFX button would appear in every record).
  • Make WorldCat in FirstSearch a source (SFX button would appear in every record).

See Web Advisory Group minutes, Jan. 7, 2004, for discussion of these future additions. (scroll down to #3, SFX topics)
