1999: "The Listbuilder"
2001: Vera
2002: SFX goes live
2002: The "green box" idea
2004: Green box becomes "Verde"
2005: Verde beta for testing

Interesting facts:

Verde has no front end for the public. Designed to work with other tools.
Verde has no scripting. We can write our own scripts to connect with other systems, such as the proxy server.
SFX, ALEPH, and Metalib will connect with Verde.
