DISASTER RESPONSE:
Disaster Response Kit (React Pak)

While Preservation Services stocks the materials needed to respond to a collections-related emergency, it is also critical to have supplies available at each individual library for immediate response.

To achieve this goal, disaster response kits (React Paks) have been distributed throughout the MIT Libraries system. The kits contain supplies for response to water emergencies such as leaks and broken pipes, which are the most frequent threats to our collections.

Preservation Services staff provides orientation to the various components of the kits, and will restock supplies as they are used. Additionally, a video of disaster response training is available on our training page.
