MIT Libraries Staff Concert

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

at 3 pm
in Killian Hall

One thing I’d like to ask, Mr. Irving Berlin, is this:
If the melody lingers on, are you quite sure the song is over?
In any case, here in the MIT Libraries, the song is so not over.
Come and see and hear for yourself at the Annual MIT Libraries Staff Concert as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary !

Yes, back in 1988, Marti Epstein (that wild woman of ILL ), Forrest Larson (a young pup in Serials Receipt), and others with a modicum of verve, got together to put on the first of many fine concerts. (1988? Um, technically that would make this the 21st concert, but who’s counting?)

As always, this year’s concert will feature a wide array of musical styles and performers (think mix tape without the tape), delivering the goods in tessituras of varying heights. Translation: Fun for everyone!

Reception to follow, featuring snax & drinx of the highest order.

Are you a musician new to the Libraries? (Or not so new, but still holding out on us?) Let us know who you are! If you would be interested in participating, please contact one of the concert coordinators, Forrest or Cate.  A letter with more details will be sent out shortly to all the musicians we know from prior concerts.
