Scheduling
TechTime
Scheduling:
Anyone may schedule the DIRC for instruction sessions. Scheduling will
be handled via TechTime on a first-come, first-served basis.
DIRC
is an invite-able resource in TechTime. When booking DIRC, please
indicate who is booking the session, who the audience is, and type
of instruction
(hands-on, lecture, etc.).
To check
the DIRC schedule on TechTime:

In TechTime, Open an Agenda. Type "res:lib:" (it
is important to include the : in this search). Click
OK.
- Choose
the DIRC from the list of library resources. This will open the Agenda
for the DIRC.
OR:
- In
TechTime, Open an Agenda. Click the Magnifying Glass to open
a search window. Click the Resources tab.
- Click
the radio button to Search by Resource. In the Resource Name
box, enter lib: (it is important to include the : in this
search).
- This
will return a list of all library resources and locations. Find
the DIRC listing. Click on it, then click OK
at the bottom
of the screen. This
will open the Agenda for the DIRC.
If you are using the web version of TechTime:
- Choose
View Agendas. Click the radio button for Resource Search.
- Type "lib:" in
the search box. Click Find.
- This
will return a list of all library resources and locations.
Find the DIRC listing. Click on it, and click View. This will open
the Agenda for the DIRC.
If you
have not used DIRC please review the Using
DIRC
section of the web site before you begin a training session.
Sessions lasting more than 4 hours should get prior approval from the DIRC committee (dirc-lib@mit.edu). If at all possible, these sessions should not be scheduled during peak times during the semester, namely September – mid November and February – mid April. If you need to schedule a session lasting longer than 4 hours, please get approval from the DIRC committee at least 1 month in advance.
Scheduling
Conflicts:
In
the event of a scheduling conflict, contact your colleague and make
every reasonable effort to negotiate a satisfactory resolution.
Play close
attention to the room use guidelines,
but also take into account the nature of the audience and the amount
of lead time you're giving to the person that you're asking to reschedule.
