Microsoft Campus Agreement for Windows and MS Office:

The MIT Libraries have decided to participate in a new campus agreement with Microsoft.   This document explains what's available to you under this agreement, where these products are supported, and what the Computer Support Group recommends.

Microsoft Campus Agreement at MIT

Information Services and Technology (IS&T) signed a Campus Agreement with Microsoft. The Microsoft Campus Agreement grants members of educational institutions the right to use various Microsoft products. The agreement has now been executed by Microsoft and Insight, a reseller for Microsoft products.

IS&T has negotiated two specific agreements. One agreement for the Windows OS and Client Access Licenses (CALs) and an additional agreement for the MS Office professional product suite. More information about Microsoft Campus Agreements may be read at:

Our Microsoft Select Agreement remains active to provide significantly reduced pricing for products not covered by the newly executed Campus Agreement and is available via GovConnection.

Operating Systems Upgrades and CALs
Campus Agreement for Microsoft Operating Systems:
3-year agreement, renewable each July and ending June 30, 2007
All MIT faculty and staff on MIT equipment and use on one personal machine for MIT purposes:

• operating system upgrades
• windows server client access licenses

Undergraduate students

• operating system upgrades
• client access licenses

NOTE: Sloan School and EECS graduate students should contact their Software Liaison.

Microsoft Office Professional Product Suite
Campus Agreement for Microsoft Office product suite (Macintosh and Windows)
Funded by participating Departments, Labs & Centers
3-year agreement ending June 30, 2007
All MIT faculty and staff on MIT equipment:

• MS Office product suite (Macintosh and Windows)
• client access licenses

List of Microsoft Office Professional 2003 product suite:

• Word
• Excel
• Powerpoint
• Outlook
• Access
• InfoPath
• Publisher

List of Microsoft Office Professional 2004 product suite:

• Word
• Excel
• Powerpoint
• Entourage
• Virtual PC
