MIT Libraries: Collection Services

Serials Acquisitions

Commitments

The staff of the Serials Acquisitions Team deal with checkin, payment, claims, change of address requests, and other issues related to serials and journals at the MIT Libraries. Each Serials Assistant is assigned specific libraries and vendors with whom they work. Local Processing staff should first contact the person assigned to their library, as listed below.

  • Andrea Rounds, Serials Acquisitions Supervisor: rounds@mit.edu; 253-1928
Andrea began work on November 26, 2007. Her responsibilities include managing the daily operations surrounding ordering, renewal, and receipt of tangible resources (i.e., print, CD, microformat, etc.) She will also assume responsibility for some of these functions as they relate to online resources as well.

  • Czeslaw Jankowski , Serials Assistant: czeslaw@mit.edu; 258-5430
Czeslaw is the primary contact for Barker, Aero/Astro, and Lindgren. In addition, Czeslaw has retained his responsibilities for the UN, OECD, World Bank, and IMF blanket orders, even though they are primarily all Dewey titles. Czeslaw hours can vary, but he is easily reachable by email and voice mail when he's out of the office.

  • Jake Meaney, Serials Assistant: jmeaney@mit.edu; 258-5431
Jake is the primary contact for Science, Rotch, and Music. His hours are generally M-F 9-5.

  • Kevin Lague, Serials Assistant: k_plague@mit.edu; 258-5432
Kevin is the primary contact for Dewey and Humanities, with the exception of those packages listed in Czeslaw's responsibilities. His hours are generally M-F 9-5.

And if you have any problems or concerns that you think require extra attention, you can always contact me:
Kim Maxwell, Serials Acquisitions Librarian: kmaxwell@mit.edu; 253-7028.
