Library Storage Annex

The Library Storage Annex and Preservation Services comprise the two sections of Collection Management Services.

what we do

Storage

The Annex is a closed-stack facility which houses many stored materials of the MIT Libraries. The Annex is also the primary contact for storage requests between the Libraries and the Harvard Depository. See our storage guide for details.

Requests

Patrons may request Annex materials to use on-site (by appointment) or to be delivered to any MIT Libraries Circulation Desk.

Article Delivery

Teamed with Document Services, the Annex began providing electronic article delivery to patrons via Web-Docs in September 2002. A pilot project to expand article delivery was initiated in fall 2006.

DDC Recon

Serials cataloging staff work in-house on retrospective conversion of Dewey Decimal Classification serials.
