Library Storage Annex

The Library Storage Annex and Preservation Services comprise the two sections of Collection Management Services in the Information Resources department.

What we do

Storage

The Annex is a closed-stack facility which houses many stored materials of the MIT Libraries. The Annex is also the primary contact for storage requests between the Libraries and the Harvard Depository. See our storage guide for details.

Requests

Patrons may request Annex materials to use on-site (by appointment) or to be delivered to any MIT Libraries Circulation Desk.

Article Delivery

The Annex began offering PDF delivery via ILLiad to MIT patrons in August 2008. See the staff FAQ for answers to common questions about the service. Electronic article delivery to non-MIT patrons is available via Web-Docs.

DDC Recon

Serials cataloging staff work in-house on retrospective conversion of Dewey Decimal Classification serials.
