Hide=Yes Records in Vera
Records are often entered into Vera before access is available to the public, and we make the records Hide=Yes so they don't show to the public. Hide=Yes records are expected to eventually become Hide=No records (with the exception of records that say [PERMANENT HIDE] in the title field).
Hide=Yes records can be thought of as "works in progress," and as such they need to be revisited and worked on until they are ready for public access. How do you find the records that are yours? The procedures below describe how.
Find records that meet the following critera:
1st request:
- Hide=Yes
- Entered by is your name (search for Kim Maxwell and kmaxwell; to see all the ways your name might be entered in this field, place your cursor in the Entered by field and press Ctrl-I to see the Index of all entries in the field)
2nd request:
- Hide=Yes
- Title field has your name in it
3rd request:
- Omit records with PERMANENT HIDE in the title
4th and subsequent requests:
- Omit records with other people's names in the titles (e.g., if you are Jake, omit records with the names Rachel, Walter, Kim, etc. in the title; you will need to do a separate request for each name).
In general, if you created it (i.e., your name is the Entered By field) you are responsible for following up on it. But, there are times when the person who created the record is not the person who will follow up on the title. In that case, add a note to the Title field in the record to say "Rachel will follow up" (substitute the appropriate name, of course).
