Free to the world ejournals / databases

"Free to the world" resources are those that anyone can access, regardless of any print subscription or otherwise. These resources should be added to Vera at the request of a selector or as a result of a URL report from SerCat. Jake will work on ejournals, and Sally will work on databases.

Vera

First, check to make sure the title really is free to the world. Explore the site a bit, and make sure the title isn't just free for a short time.

Add a New record to Vera, paying attention to the following fields:

Note that no Order record or Subscription record will be added to Barton for these titles, since there is nothing to check in and nothing to claim. The only reason we'd ever need to contact the "vendor" for these titles is if access stopped working, and we'll look at the Contact Info in Vera for that.

Barton and SFX

Report the title to SerCat and the selector(s) as you would any other resource. SerCat will create a Bib record and Holdings record in Barton (with a summary holdings statement), and turn on the resource in SFX if possible.
