Stock Answers to Common Digprob Questions: ILB Response

If you need to direct a user to ILB, here is some phrasing you can use. Adapt to fit the situation, of course.

Dear [user],

To obtain the article you're looking for, you can use our Interlibrary Borrowing (ILB service). The ILB website is here:

http://libraries.mit.edu/ilb

To get started, click on the "Log in to ILLiad" link. You'll need  to register for ILLiad if you've never used it before, but that only  takes a minute or two.

Once you've registered and logged in, use the link in the sidebar on the left side of the page to create a request for an article. Fill out the form with as much information as you have. ILB will then contact another library which does subscribe to the journal and obtain a copy for you, most likely in PDF format. You'll receive an email in a couple of business days when the paper is available for download.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
