Uncataloged Physics RR hand delivered to 14E-210.
Titles for Physics RR are no longer treated Rush. When received they are divided equally and, bypassing the Wall entirely, distributed directly to copy catalogers. Specific titles may be made Rush at the discretion of Physics RR.
Each piece, excepting accompanying materials (see paragraph below), receives a barcode number as part of its item record on Aleph. The barcode itself is not attached to the book, but the barcode is not thrown away; the retension of the barcode is only for the purposes of Preservation Services call number label software.
For all Physics RR titles, the cataloger attaches the barcode to scrap paper, which is then placed inside the book before putting it on the bindery truck.
Accompanying material, such as CDROMs, should remain with its original packaging within the book and not processed separately. Accompanying materials do not receive an item or barcode number in Aleph.
If a cataloger adds any title as an added copy in Aleph, the Item Processing Status should be made blank.
