Agenda

  1. Updates
Georgiana McReynolds will meet with Nicole Hennig and/or Marion Leeds-Carroll about an online added borrower form. Discussion ensued. We suggested the need for publicity around June 30 when the added borrower forms need to be renewed. Kevin Sheehan suggested sending an email to the proxies and faculty at the end of each term.

  2. Macros
Barker and Dewey Libraries use a variety of circulation macros. Ginny Such mentioned reserves processing macros. We discussed how to upgrade macros for version 16. Centralized training was preferred. Macro uniformity among units is desirable.

  3. Updating C-Space
Core competencies could be listed in an excel spreadsheet in C-Space. The reference manual has many links.

  4. ALEPH Training
Georgiana McReynolds, Denise O’Malley, and Kevin Sheehan agreed to help with circulation training. Jonah Jenkins and Maria Rodrigues will help identify those who need training.

  5. Ask Us Central (AUC)
Georgiana explained how Ask Us Central handles circulation issues. Are the patrons’ circulation questions answered quickly and correctly? We questioned the need for circulation experts on the AUC team and felt the best method would be to refer questions out to circulation staff as some AUC team members already asked the circulation staff in their library instead of referring back to the circulation experts on AUC. Georgiana will consult with Lisa Horowitz to review appropriate next steps.

  6. ALEPH version 16
We discussed proxy issues. We plan to implement proxy borrowers in version 16. Some additional testing and investigation of certain aspects will be necessary before a final decision is made.
