Barton Advisory Group Minutes - 12/14/05
Word of the day: ESCALATE
New servers
Testing:
- Christine is working on errors that Darcy reported; keyword indexes are not working right - Christine is reloading them
- Elke did some simple testing - everything is working the same; most things do not seem to be faster though (which was hoped for), although one large title seems to be faster (still need to test at Dewey)
- Denise is looking at printing of hold requests - Christine says this may be a client-side problem that more memory might solve
Other:
- IS&T is working on backup on the new servers
- end of December/beginning of January IS&T will set up new production server
- we would like to aim for MLK weekend (1/16) to switch over to new production server
Vacation plans:
- Christine will be out for the next two weeks (12/19-12/30)
- off the whole week after Christmas: Elke, Lisa, Beth, Darcy
Date for server outage
- IS&T wants to know if Saturday, 2/4, is a good date for downtime of our server
- group agreed that it is probably fine
Issues with web OPAC back buttons
- since the latest patch, using the back button causes severely bad behavior in the web OPAC; Christine has reported to ExLibris but has not heard back; she will talk to Nina about following up/escalating the problem while she is gone
Problems with processes restarting
Beth: after loads, a number of processes are stopped and for the past few weeks, they are not restarting properly; Christine was not aware of this
EDI invoice statuses not correct
Charlene: Is there progress with ExLibris on this issue? Christine: No.
Next Meeting: January 11 (Howard Silver as guest about patron barcodes?)
Minutes: Follett
