McReynolds (minutes), Christine Moulen (chair), Elke Pointek-Ma, Beth Siers,

1. Indexing
Re-indexing of version 16 must be done in order to accommodate a table change
that will affect browse searching. BAG decided to re-index next weekend. Rich,
with Beth's assistance, will supervise the re-indexing as Christine will be
away at an ExLibris seminar. Christine reported that it will take a couple of
weeks to complete the indexing process. Beth expressed the importance of testing
the loaders as soon as possible in case ExLibris has to perform any fixes; loader
testing will begin this weekend.
2. Version 16 testing
Testing has begun in acquisitions, serials, circulation, and cataloging. Processing
testers will test all functions not related to serials starting next week. Circulation
testers will discuss their findings at the next Circulation Committee meeting.
No major problems have been found so far in any module. Charlene is reporting
permissions problems to Christine to tweak as they are discovered.
Elke pointed out that publication patters will require extensive work.
Georgiana has tested the proxy borrower feature. Circulation staff will implement
the feature in order to improve service to added borrowers and the faculty they
serve. Tracy and Georgiana will work with Christine to test the new password
feature in Your Account.
3. Version 16 training
Christine met with Jonah and Maria to discuss the next steps needed to train
staff in the new version. Jonah and Maria will attend the next BAG meeting to
continue the discussion. BAG needs to identify the following:
* Who will train?
* Who needs to be trained?
* Is training local and/or system-wide?
Next meeting April 13, 2005, 1:30-3. Hayden Conference Room. Minutes Gabridge
