Minutes Barton Advisory Group - Meeting 02/02/05

Present: Christine Moulen (chair), Beth Siers, Rich Wenger, Kim Maxwell, Charlene Follett, Tracy Gabridge, Elke Piontek-Ma (minutes), Georgiana McReynolds

1) Updates to upgrade progress
- indexing is still running on the test server
- some of the indexing processes have been restarted
- tester training will be deferred until the week of Feb. 14. Maria is scheduling 3-4 sessions.
- Christine did the automatic upgrade of the Web OPAC and it seemed to work fine. The next step will be the manual upgrades.

2) The group looked at the upgrade to-do list and assigned some responsibilities

Tracy has been working on the OPAC related to-do list. The document will live on Turnpike with other upgrade related documents.

We'll use the ExLibris client installer, just link to our database, and use the version check to update the machines in the DIRC and for testers according to the newest customization that Christine will be working on. When the customization has been finished Christine will create an installer.

Christine will meet with the LTE's next week to talk about the client installation.

The central to-do list will also live on Turnpike together with the other upgrade documents

At the next meeting we'll look at the client.

3) Beth updated the group that there has been progress with the loading of records for e-only government documents. This will become more and more important as more and more government documents will not be available in tangible format anymore.

Next meeting: Wednesday 2/16/2005 at 1:30 in the Hayden Conference Room
