Patch 5 news
Progress is being made on both the major loader issue and the OPAC security issue. James Steenbergen is checking Ex Libris' schedule for possible installation of the patch sometime during the weeks of June 9-20.

Upgrading to Aleph version 15
Nina and Christine had spoken with James Steenbergen earlier in the week about whether we want to upgrade to version 15 at all. Most Aleph sites worldwide will go straight from version 14 to 16 beginning in Summer 2004. Version 15 will only be available in North America. James will send us documentation on the new features of version 15 so that we can evaluate MIT's needs.

Prioritizing our outstanding support calls
We began reviewing a list of outstanding support issues that have been reported to Ex Libris since January 2002. Approximately 60 out of 109 have some kind of pending status. In reviewing the first 20, we found that several could really be closed, or needed further testing, others are waiting for installation of the patch upgrade. We decided that everyone should take a look at the support calls for their area, and report back at the next meeting.

Permissions review
Christine has prepared a spreadsheet detailing all Aleph permissions assigned to the various proxy groups of staff and student assistants. We looked at a sample of each section of the spreadsheet, and members will review the proxies for their area and report back to Christine with any problems or changes.

Next meeting: Thursday April 10. 9:30-11 AM at Hayden Conference Room
