Minutes Barton Advisory Group - 12/19/2002

Present: Finigan, Follett, Hartman, Kajosalo, Maxwell, Moulen (chair/minutes), Siers

We met at Seattle's Best, and everyone ooh'd and aah'd over Charlene's festive coffee selection.

Indexing
We discussed last minute questions about the upcoming [now complete] re-indexing of Barton and associated downtime.

Enhancements
Most of the meeting was spent reviewing the meeting Christine had attended with other Enhancement Group chairs and Ex Libris. The final top 5 from each group will be sent to Ex Libris to have points assigned on January 15.

Lost item status
Stephanie and Christine updated the group briefly on a meeting with circulation and processing staff about a status for lost books. At this time the "Lost" item status has become a "Declared Lost" processing status. The "Lost" loan status, automatically assigned by ALEPH, also still exists. Public Services staff should be getting more details from the processing or circulation group.

NAAUG 2003
We briefly discussed NAAUG 2003, who is interested in attending, and ideas for presentations.

Reserves collection
Circulation Committee has asked that we change the display text for the Course Reserves collection to Reserve Stacks. This is a simple display configuration that does not involve touching thousands of items.
