Minutes - Barton Advisory Group, 10/31/02
Present: Finigan, Follett (minutes), Hartman, Kajosalo, Maxwell, Moulen (chair), Siers

1. Indexing
Siers gave a PowerPoint demonstration on Aleph Indexing, including Browse, Keyword, Direct and System Generated indexes. The group felt the presentation was very informative and could be useful for training other staff. Maxwell will put the presentation on the BAG web page under "Useful Things."

2. Updates
-Moulen reported that she and/or Carl Jones will learn Java Scripts, if necessary, to pick up what Greg McClellan was working on for the Web OPAC group. Kajosalo stated that "Your Account," which is dependent on getting no frames working, remains a high Public Service priority.
-ExLibris is working on the loader problem that BAS reported from the Patch 5 testing. Frustrations with the lag time in getting responses from ExLibris was discussed.
-Kajosalo previewed the mock-up of the new design for the no-frames web OPAC.
-Moulen gave a tour of the ExLibris Support Site and Problem List. It was agreed that BAG will review this list periodically, similar to our review process for our Priorities List.

3. Halloween!
Seasonal goodies were enjoyed by all.
Maxwell, dressed as a Princess, won Best Costume.

NEXT MEETING: 11/7/02
