Barton Advisory Group Meeting on 7/11/2002

Present: Michael Finigan, Charlene Follett, Stephanie Hartman, Erja Kajosalo (minutes), Christine Moulen (chair), Beth Siers

NAAUG meeting
We discussed who is going to which NAAUG meeting presentations in order to make sure that we hear most of them. [ NAAUG is held this year in Boston College July 28-30, 2002. -- see http://www.bc.edu/bc_org/avp/ulib/naaug2002/welcome.html]

Patch 4 & 5
We learned only this week that no-frames OPAC is only in patch 5 instead of patch 4. Christine, Beth and Tracy Gabridge are working on updating tables and web pages for patch 4. We are hoping that patch 4 with its > 2000 reports of changes is installed early next week. Then we will install patch 5 which is a smaller patch (~200 rep of changes) and should not take as long. After the patch installations we will start test both of these patches together and OPAC group will start no-frames customization.

Acq+all titles index
This index was created to access records with 793 field which was used during data conversion, but no new records with this field are created. Unfortunately, this index shows up in additional title search screen in web OPAC, although it is not meant for public view. Christine will find out if we can remove indexes without reindexing our data.

GUI OPAC index review
We will come back to this depending on the answer above. Beth will do a "Indexing Quick Start" in early September meeting to prepare us for the review.

Upcoming schedule
July 25 - NAAUG presentation trial run - no meeting
August 1 - regular meeting (moved from August 22)
August 8 - regular meeting

Future meetings agenda items:
Patch 4 & 5
Priorities review
Beth' indexing quick start and review of GUI indices
