Brio Query
- Christine demonstrated how to use Brio Query to get Barton related data
from Data Warehouse.
- Noted that when installing BioQuery software on your computer install "Sample
Files" as well.
NAAUG Meeting
- Aleph User group meets in Boston College in July -- see http://www.bc.edu/bc_org/avp/ulib/naaug2002/welcome.html
- Encouraged all the BAG members to seek the administration's approval to
attend this local meeting
- Several of us have ideas for possible presentations
- Note -- abstracts due 3/8/02. Submit them to Christine (or at least cc to
Christine) who as the site contact will submit them.
US Support
- We switched officially to US support on Jan 12, 2002 see http://support.exlibris-usa.com:4505/D
. This web site allows us to keep track of our problems, see who is working
on a problem, and as problems solved solutions are posted for all Aleph users
to see. All BAG members have access [see Christine about userid & password].
- Documentation links easier to use from this web site, but may not always
be as up-to-date as the official site -- see http://www1.exlibrisgroup.com
- We should send our problems to Christine who will post them to the site;
she has sent 8-10 problems, some solved immediately.
Serials holdings workshop
- Christine, Kim, Beth, & Stephanie attended this excellent workshop with
trainers from Yale.
- They will share this information with people in technical services.
Item process statuses & item statuses
- Kim have updated the item status & item process status lists on the
web -- see http://libstaff.mit.edu/colserv/seracq/is.html, and http://libstaff.mit.edu/colserv/seracq/ips.html
- Stephanie reported that the confusing item status descriptions (such as
28 day loan ) would disappear from web OPAC once Barton OPAC group has tested
the implementation that includes java script.
- Reviewed the process statuses; Kim will update the web page based on this
discussion.
- Christine will run report of on HDC7-- should they be RSC7? She'll send
the list to Michael.
Announcements
- Beth reported that some quick changes for common local practices were made
to Validation tables (catalogers error messages).
- Christine updated on the test server status, and we are hopeful that we
can pass it to ExLibris soon. ExLibris schedule is getting very busy with
all the new North -American clients that may mean more delays.
- [Note -- currently we are hoping to pass the server to ExLibris during week
3/4/02]
