If you're unhappy with the size and position of your Items window when you retrieve a record in the Items module, you can change the settings via "Visual Properties." Click on the icon in the top left of the window's title bar to find the Visual Properties. If you move and size your window, and then open the visual properties and check the boxes for relocate and resize, it should keep your settings.
If this does not work, you may also change the settings in the items.ini file:
1. Through either My Computer or Windows Explorer, find your items.ini file on your hard drive. It should live in \Al500\Items\Tab\
2. Open the file using NotePad (you can just double click on the file and it should launch NotePad)
3. About halfway through the file, you should see this:
[WindowLocation]
ItemsWindowPosition=370,50
ItemsWindowResize=Y
ItemsWindowRelocate=Y
ItemsWindowSize=601,510
ItemsWindowOpenIconize=N
4. All you have to do is change the values for "ItemsWindowPosition" and "ItemsWindowSize." I've changed mine to:
[WindowLocation]
ItemsWindowPosition=50,50
ItemsWindowResize=Y
ItemsWindowRelocate=Y
ItemsWindowSize=950,510
ItemsWindowOpenIconize=N
4. Choose Save from the File menu, and Exit NotePad.
5. Restart Items module and you should see your changes take effect when you retrieve a record.
Now when I retrieve a record in the Items module, I get a nice, big window displaying the full barcode, description, location, and collection. NOTE: I have a 19" monitor and its display/screen area settings are 1024 X 768. The values would have to be "tweaked" if, for example, you have a 17" monitor and its display/screen area settings are 800 X 600.
