The Eccentric Magicians Group is among the Libraries' unsung heroes. Without a lot of fuss or publicity, they are responsible for making sure that the Libraries' Windows domain, including servers as well as staff and public computers, is up and running. They work with our LTEs, providing training, advice, expertise, emergency coverage, or sometimes just a shoulder to cry on as the situation requires. They are a resource for our entire staff, who turn to them with a calm question or a frantic crisis and in either case can count on prompt and excellent service. This year in particular they deserve to be recognized because they not only did all of the usual tasks while short staffed, but also wrestled with ongoing security concerns, including several compromised computers, and took the lead in moving us toward the WinAthena service which will ultimately result in both efficiencies and improvements in service.

9. Was this contribution for a one-time/ad-hoc activity, or has this effort been continuous?

___ One-Time/Ad-hoc effort
_x_ Continuous/Ongoing effort
